A Stevenson screen is a meteorological piece of equipment designed to shield instruments from precipitation and direct heat radiation, while still allowing air to circulate freely around the instruments.
The screen creates a protective environment in relation to the air outside and is designed to hold Metcheck instruments such as Min/Max thermometers, barometers and two ordinary thermometers combined to make a wet and dry bulb hygrometer. Further optional instruments include traditional thermograph and barograph recorders.
