Tides are caused by many factors, but by far the most influential is the moon's gravitational pull on the ocean. In the moons average cycle most areas have two high tides and two low tides. This tide clock has been specially designed to rotate twice each period (every 12 hours and 25 minutes and 14 seconds) giving you a quick and easy indication of high and low water.
