Sheathed maximum thermometer manufactured similar to the Met Office BS692 specifications for use in a Stevenson Screen. Traditionally mounted in a thermometer screen with a 2° incline to the horizontal, the Metcheck maximum thermometer indicates the extremes of ambient air temperature.
The Metcheck 3511 thermometer is Gallium filled as a non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to mercury which can withstand higher temperatures.
