Sheathed ordinary thermometer manufactured similar to the Met Office BS692 specifications for use in a Stevenson Screen. Traditionally mounted in a thermometer screen on the vertical axis as a pair; one thermometer is used for dry temperatures while the other is used in conjunction with a wick and reservoir for wet temperatures, in total creating a masons hygrometer.

The Metcheck 3501 thermometer is Gallium filled as a non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to mercury, providing a clear red line to indicate temperature.
