Metcheck celebrates an impressive 45 years of supporting weather enthusiasts, professional meteorologists, and UK weather observers with trusted meteorological equipment and high-quality weather recording solutions. From traditional barograph charts and pen inks to modern electronic weather stations, our commitment to accurate weather monitoring has never wavered.
To mark this milestone, we sat down with our Managing Director, Imogen Cunningham, to reflect on Metcheck’s journey, the evolution of weather recording, and what the future holds for a brand that has been at the heart of the UK weather observing community for nearly half a century.
"Metcheck makes me incredibly proud. Reaching 45 years of business is a huge achievement, and like the weather itself, we have been ever-changing. One thing that hasn't altered is our commitment to supplying the Meteorological Network with high quality weather recording consumables. A specific passion of ours is being able to deliver a huge range of barograph charts, pens and inks to suit a diverse range of monitoring needs. These types of consumables form the basis of weather recording; something that is absolutely necessary for observing change in our climate. Being able to record and monitor our environment at a grassroots level was once the very beginnings of some of the biggest weather monitoring networks in operation today."
"Authentic, Nostalgic, Committed"
"The way weather can be monitored has changed considerably over the last 45 years. From fully integrated electronic weather stations to tipping rain gauges that read a 0.01mm measurement per tip, weather recording has an exciting and evolving product landscape. However, basic manual readings from traditional instruments often remain the most accurate and trusted way of reading the weather, and Metcheck is proud to support a dedicated community of weather observers throughout the UK and further afield."
"I hope another 45 years of business in the weather industry! Our ties to traditional methods of weather watching and the vast knowledge we have accumulated as a team is testament to our dedication. As a business, we love learning; it helps us to bring new ideas to the marketplace and challenge our existing product ranges to make sure we continue to deliver excellent quality. Providing knowledgeable customer care and helping a community keep traditions alive is what it's all about for us."
